Speakeasy
433 E 6th St, New York, NY 10009
Old-timey entrance
It's not obvious enough from the street that I'd definitely walk past it a few times before even considering that something was there.
During the winter it's a little more obvious - they have a big wind shield up, but it's still super lowkey.
The door blends into the building siding well, but once you notice it, it's metal as hell.
The door handle looks like a metal angel died and it's last wish was to show you this speakeasy.
Inside, it's not quite as metal, but they maintain a bit of the drama. It's dark and moody - the usual.
No flak on this spot, but the entrance is the sexiest part of the establishment, in my opinion.
But hey, the entrance of any speakeasy is half the value - it's all about that "oooh, where are we going" moment.
I like Death & Co, and I'm confident you will too. Their drinks are great, the food is delicious too.
Check it out.
