As far as I can tell, it's the only speakeasy in Chicago's Chinatown.

And it's a great one.

Hidden inside the Moon Palace Express takeout restaurant, which is already a delicious spot, is Nine Bar.

A club with good music, great drinks, and a lot of locals.

It's got my favorite combination of characteristics in a speakeasy:

1) It's more of a club than a bar - that's actually super rare

2) It's genuinely hidden, although there is a minimal sign outside

3) The restaurant out front is open late, so you can grab food on your way home

I always love easy access to a late night snack, because I'll always come home from a night out hungry.

Anyway, I digress. I highly recommend this spot if you're in town for a weekend, or a Chicago native looking for something new.
